The Idea of One Day Only
ODO is like a diary written in sand. Write down the moment’s feelings without having to craft a complete story or expect an answer.
Someone might reply, but making friends is not the primary purpose. The focus is expressing this moment without needing to continue a relationship. "Sand diary" is an emotional metaphor: this is a group chat space visible to and answerable by others, not a single-user private vault.
A Concrete Product
When entering for the first time, you can pick a language and create a random account without entering your name, phone number, or email. Existing accounts can log in with bound credentials.
You create a persisting random account. Public nicknames reset daily based on UTC date; changing nicknames does not create a new account.
Rooms exist for at most 24 hours from creation, and may close earlier if disbanded by host, inactivity timeout, or moderation.
Standard messages are delivered only in real-time with no offline history; missed messages will not be backfilled. The current device shows received messages only while the room is open.
Private rooms require a room number and password to join and do not appear in public discovery lists; hosts can also require admission approval.
ODO does not provide end-to-end encryption and cannot prevent participants from taking screenshots, copying, or saving content.
Account, device credentials, membership, and payment info are retained independently from rooms; room closure does not mean these records are deleted.
